A remarkable personal story which guides you through the forbidden territories of addiction and the never avoided consequences. Fortunately this one happily ends with a personal triumph.

I found this to be a thoroughly compelling read. Marco Broccardo's story is horrific and sad in some places, ironically funny in others, but overwhelmingly courageous and hopeful overall.
Addiction is affecting an alarmingly growing number of people, whether as addicts or as the family and friends of the addict, and Marco and his family's sharing of the intimate details of their stories is very brave. These stories are raw and shocking in their telling, and go a long way to explaining the passion that the author and his wife put into their fund-raising efforts towards rehabilitation of addicts.
Whether you read this book as an addict, family or friend of an addict, or to educate yourself as a parent or teacher, read this book.
Living in Johannesburg at the same time as Marco and reading his story has made me realise how fortunate I was not to have gone down the same road. I applaud Marco for his bravery in having written this book and for being such an inspiration to everyone.
The proceeds of the book go to wards a good and just cause, and encourage everyone to pick up a copy. If not for the benefit of the less fortunate in the vice of addiction then to just read an amazing story of a man who was able to go through hell and back and finally become a recovered addict who is now one of the brightest entrepreneurs in South Africa and a role model for us all.
The book shows what a deep rooted problem addiction is in society and that we must take it seriously to combat it.
