Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

"Jessie B. Rittenhouse (She steps brightly forward with an air of soprano introduction.) "RESIGNATION" I looked from out my window, Beloved, and I see, A bird upon a pear bough, But what is that to me?..." And so this nifty book of poems began with witty introductions by the author that made me snicker occasionally. Sometimes the intros were the best part as for these two addresses "Fixing her glasses firmly on the rest of the Poetry Society in a way which makes them with difficulty refrain from writhing" and "Who has an air of absolute belief in the True, the Optimistic, and the Checkbook. He seems yet a little ill at ease among the others, and to be looking about restlessly for Ella Wheeler Wilcox) whereas other times it was the poem I found more fun as in this excerpt from 'Carlo the Gardner' with Italian flair "De poets dey tinka dey gotta da tree, Dey gotta da arta, da birds---but me, I lova da arts, I lova da flower, (Ah, bella fioretta!) I waita da hour..." Funny book tho imperfect as links do not work from the table of contents and while making mention of a dozen illustrations I found not a one. Still a satisfying book good for a few laughs and the price was right. In my final lead up to Christmas I thought it would be fun to review one book a day related (in name only) to the dozen elements comprising the poem "Twelve Days of Christmas" before hanging up the reviewer hat and giving it a rest (So if you remember that partridge in a pear tree, up next will come something akin to two turtle doves). Until then, Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
